The stakeholders of the Fulbright program and EducationUSA met in Taipei, Taiwan on March 26-28, 2014 during the East Asia and Pacific (EAP) Fulbright Regional Meeting.  50 participants from the Fulbright Commissions, U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) and other State Department offices, the cooperative agencies (IIE and CIES), and US Embassy Public Affairs Sections.

The focus of this regional meeting is on program and budget priorities, sharing best practices, and looking ahead to see where program improvements can be made.

Welcome remarks at the Opening Reception at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were delivered by Ambassador Ting Joseph Shih and EAP Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Diplomacy Susan Stevenson.   Indonesia was represented by Mary E. Countryman, Counselor for Public Affairs, U.S. Embassy who is concurrently Co-Chair of the AMINEF Board of Supervisors, William Tuchrello, AMINEF Interim Executive Director, and Piet Hendrardjo, AMINEF Deputy Executive Director.
