We wish all the best for the 2020 Community College Initiative (CCI) Program Participants who will begin their one-semester study in the US in early 2021 at various community colleges across the US.
The 18 eager CCI Participants completed their virtual pre-departure orientation (PDO), where they received helpful information and insights to better prepare for their trip to the US and their study during their fellowship.
The two-day online event on November 24 and 25, 2020 started with opening remarks by AMINEF Executive Director, Alan Feinstein, followed by three keynote speakers, LaRita Campbell, Program Officer, Office of Global Educational Programs, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, U.S. Department of State, Syedur Rahman, Associate Vice President, Director for International Education and Sponsored Programs, Community College Consortium (CCC), Northern Virginia Community College, and Ferdinandus (Nando) Watu, 2014 CCI Program alumnus, West Detusoko village head, Ende, East Nusa Tenggara. Then followed by sessions on various aspects of the program, practical tips for participants, including what to expect on arrival and life in the US as a CCI Participant.
