Christiane Amanpour to be awarded the 2025 Fulbright Prize
CNN and PBS Anchor and Journalist to be honored for her outstanding commitment to reporting stories and hosting discussions that deepen international and cultural understanding
Award ceremony to take place on May 8, 2025, at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg Center in Washington, DC
Washington, DC – The Fulbright Association will award the 2025 J. William Fulbright Prize for International Understanding to Christiane Amanpour, CNN’s chief international anchor of the network’s global affairs program “Amanpour,” “Amanpour & Company” which airs on PBS in the United States, and host of “The Amanpour Hour,” for a lifetime of exemplary global journalism that is timely, insightful, and deeply educational.
Dr. David Maxwell, chair of the Fulbright Prize Selection Committee, explains that “Ms. Amanpour represents the finest traditions of international reporting. We honor her integrity, balanced approach, and unshakeable commitment to bringing light and understanding to the most complicated global issues and conflicts.”

About Christiane Amanpour
Christiane Amanpour is CNN’s chief international anchor of the network’s award-winning, flagship global affairs program “Amanpour,” which also airs as “Amanpour and Company” on PBS in the United States.
