As ETA Maria Osman‘s time at SMK Abdurrab Pekanbaru came to an end, she marked her final week with a heartfelt letter-writing activity. After completing their final unit on recount texts and taking their last exam, students were invited to write farewell letters to Maria. They shared advice, favorite memories, and personal reflections on their time together, offering a glimpse into the impact of the past months.

In return, Maria wrote her goodbye letter, expressing gratitude for her students’ energy, resilience, and the many lessons they had taught her. She shared it with each class, reflecting on their journey and the connections they had built. The exchange of letters became an emotional yet meaningful moment, filled with smiles, laughter, and even a few tears.

Though her time as an ETA has come to a close, the words exchanged in those letters serve as a lasting reminder of the bonds formed, the growth achieved, and the power of cross-cultural exchange through education.
