With a Fulbright Doctoral Degree Scholarship, Elisabeth Oseanita Pukan studies English at the State University of New York, Binghamton. Her research investigates how the literary imagination of trauma, roots, survival, and resilience of women characters in contemporary Indonesian and native American novels.

She currently works as a lecturer at Universitas Sanata Dharma in Yogyakarta.

Her academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Universitas Negeri Semarang and a master’s in American studies from Universitas Gadjah Mada.
