Eri Sofiatry is a Fulbright Doctoral Degree Scholarship recipient pursuing studies in international education at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. His research interest is in the foundations of education between society, government, and the education sector.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Universitas Islam Negeri Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang and a master’s in higher education management from the Universitas Gadjah Mada. He is currently a lecturer and researcher in political science at Universitas Teknologi Sumbawa.
