Dr. Prayitno Abadi is a senior researcher at Pusat Riset Iklim dan Atmosfer, Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional (Research Center for Climate and Atmosphere, National Research and Innovation Agency – BRIN) in Bandung. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Universitas Diponegoro and a master’s degree from Institut Teknologi Bandung, both in physics, and a PhD in electrical engineering from Nagoya University, Japan.

As a Fulbright Visiting Scholar, Dr. Prayitno is conducting research in climate science at Boston College. His project focuses on producing higher-resolution ionospheric maps derived from Indonesia’s Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) network to advance the study of equatorial plasma bubbles (EPBs) in Southeast Asia. The research aims to improve EPB monitoring and prediction, contributing to more reliable space weather forecasting in the region.
