Dr. Rijalul Fikri is a lecturer in civil engineering at Universitas Syiah Kuala in Banda Aceh. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Universitas Syiah Kuala, a master’s degree in structural engineering from the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, and a PhD in structural and earthquake engineering from the University of Auckland, New Zealand.

As a Fulbright Visiting Scholar, Dr. Rijalul is conducting research in civil engineering at the University of California, Berkeley. His project focuses on the multi-hazard fragility of buildings and infrastructure to improve community resilience modeling in Indonesia. He aims to contribute meaningfully to national efforts in mitigating the impacts of natural disasters and strengthening long-term resilience planning.
