Emiko Wu is a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA) who co-teaches English at MAN Insan Cendekia Kota Kendari in Southeast Sulawesi.
She recently graduated from the University of Chicago with a degree in public policy and a minor in health and society. Her academic and internship experiences have centered on health policy and expanding access to care, especially for underserved communities. She has also tutored elementary students in Chicago’s Hyde Park, many of whom spoke English as a second language—an experience that sparked her interest in cross-cultural exchange and teaching.
In Kendari, Emiko is eager to explore Indonesia’s rich artistic and storytelling traditions and to deepen her understanding of how local and national identities shape everyday life in her host community.
