Victoria Djou, a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA), co-teaches English at SMAN 5 Bandar Lampung, Lampung.

She graduated from the University of Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in foreign policy and a minor in Chinese. Her academic interests focus on democratic backsliding and economic relations in Asia, and she has studied in Taiwan, Indonesia, and South Korea. She previously interned at the U.S. Department of State and the Association of the United States Army.

Victoria received both a US-Indonesia Society (USINDO) Summer Studies fellowship at Universitas Sanata Dharma and a Critical Language Scholarship from the U.S. Department of State at Universitas Negeri Malang to study bahasa Indonesia.These immersive language and cultural experiences deepened her interest in Indonesia and led her to pursue a Fulbright ETA grant.

In Bandar Lampung, she hopes to share her interests in language and dances while contributing to cultural exchange inside and outside the school.
