Education Abroad Fair

On November 20, 2025, Fulbright ETA Andre Edmond hosted an Education Abroad Fair for 12th-grade students interested in pursuing higher education in the United States at the university level. The event involved 29 student attendees who have the goal of taking their studies overseas.

To celebrate International Education Week and America250, the fair aimed to provide general information about the application process for international students, while also showcasing semester-long programs for students who may not want to commit to a four-year institution. University programs that allow international students to study abroad for one to two semesters in the US were also showcased. Students were excited to see the benefits—both culturally and professionally—of studying in America. To provide an Indonesian perspective, guest speaker Hara Rania was invited to talk about her experience applying to a university in the US as a full-time international student from Indonesia. Hara’s words were inspiring to the attendees of the presentation. Seeing an Indonesian student pursue their dream of studying abroad was motivating, as they asked critical questions to ensure that they, too, could achieve the same goal.

Andre plans to continue presenting similar workshops that include genuine guidance on starting the application process. This is an opportunity for students who truly want to master their English and pursue the incredible opportunities available in the US. Sharing his passion for education abroad programs is a goal Andre plans to accomplish throughout the rest of his time in Indonesia.

Andre Edmond is currently teaching at SMAN 1 Praya, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.
