To kick off the new year, ETA Andre Edmond celebrated the 59th founding anniversary of his host school, SMAN 1 Praya. On Saturday, January 17, Andre joined the students and teaching faculty for a day of celebratory activities.

To start the day, students gathered for the morning ceremony to showcase their unique banner designs, each representing an individual class. Each banner was designed by the students, giving them the opportunity to showcase their creativity.

Following the banner showcase, students, arranged by class order, walked around the town of Praya in a parade behind the school’s marching band. Crowds gathered from around the neighborhood, with local primary school students watching from their schools.
After the parade, the students concluded the day with a raffle. Andre had the honor of announcing the prize winners and presenting awards to both students and teachers.

The day was eventful for Andre, as he participated in a community event that showcased its school spirit while also paying respect to its history.
Andre Edmond is currently teaching at SMAN 1 Praya, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.
