Yati Widyastuti is an English teacher at SMK Negeri 1 Raha, Muna, Sulawesi Tenggara. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in English Education at Universitas Haluoleo in 2007. Prior to teaching at her current institution, she worked at Senior High School (SMA) 2 Konawe Selatan as a voluntary English teacher. She also worked at Proggres English, a local English course. In her teaching career, she has been working hard to help young learners to learn English appropriately by providing essential activities inside and outside the classroom. She has strong commitment to always provide good quality of English teaching and continuously looks for ways to improve her knowledge in capability in this field. And for this reason, she is very interested to participate in the ILEP. In this program, she expects to have opportunity to learn more about teaching methods, teaching strategies and instructional technology. She also wants to improve her leadership skill and to gain better understanding about the United States.
Yati is placed at Kent State University. Upon the completion of the program, she intends to return to her institution and contribute to the development of English teaching in her school.
