Dr. Monita Olivia is a lecturer in civil engineering at Universitas Riau, Pekanbaru.

She is currently conducting research on civil engineering at Drexel University. Her research project is “Self-healing performance and durability improvement of nano silica-based biomass mortar exposed to a sulfuric acid environment.” She wants to study the advancements in construction material research in high-end laboratory facilities in the US, which foster the development of new materials and promote a circular economy.

Dr. Monita earned her bachelor’s degree from Universitas Riau, a master’s from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, UK, and a PhD from Curtin University, Australia, all in civil engineering.
