We congratulate Fulbrighter Adam Miller and his organization Planet Indonesia, which received recognition for its innovative approach to nature conservation this year by two environmental organizations. The first is the 2021 St Andrews Prize for the Environment who selected Planet Indonesia as one of the two runner-ups, winning a cash prize of $25,000. Another achievement was as one of the 12 finalists of the Pathfinder Award 2021.
In 2013, Adam co-taught the English language at SMA Santu Petrus Pontianak as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA) grantee. He is the executive director of Planet Indonesia. Three ETAs of the same cohort, Nicholas Hughes (co-taught at SMAN 3 Kupang), Maxwell Bevilacqua (co-taught at Pondok Pesantren Pabelan, Central Java), and Dylan Kitts (co-taught at SMKN 1 Tanjungpandan), serve as US board members.
Planet Indonesia is a not-for-profit dedicated to providing market-based solutions that balance ecological and human livelihoods with cultural preservation.
