Agam Syahrial is teaching Indonesian language and taking courses in language pedagogy and the relationsthip between language and culture at Columbia University. His areas of interest are in comparative language teaching methodologies and in development of teaching materials.

Agam holds a bachelor’s degree from Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (UKSW), Salatiga, Central Java, majoring in English teaching (2013). He is currently an Indonesian language instructor for foreign students at the Language Training Center at UKSW.
