Alexandra will be teaching 10th and 11th grade students at SMAN 7 Kendari in Southeast Sulawesi. She is a 2016 graduate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she obtained degrees in Political Science and Global Studies. She served as a teaching assistant for an undergraduate Physics course on Nuclear Weapons and Arms Control and co-founded the Association of Minorities in Political Science group to promote excellence for underrepresented minorities. After graduating, she worked under the Lieutenant Governor of Illinois where she conducted educational policy research. Alexandra recently worked at College of Lake County with the federal grant program, TRiO Educational Talent Search, to increase post-secondary enrollment among first-generation and low-income high school students. She loves immersing herself into new cultures and has traveled to 18 countries. She is excited to embrace Indonesian culture and deepen her understanding of its complex roots.
