Belladini Lovely undertakes her PhD program in forestry and forest products at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Her interest is in utilizing agricultural waste using polymer engineering, particularly on biomass’s potential to be converted as highly-added-valued polymeric materials with a myriad of bio-medical applicability. For instance, she would like to look at the use of the synthetic/bio-polymer hybrid hydrogel on tissue engineering for organ reconstruction.
Belladini earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in agro-industrial engineering from IPB University. She is both program coordinator at its Directorate of International Programs and junior researcher at the IPB University-Givaudan (Switzerland) vetiver project.
