Dr. Dan Holland, a US Fulbright Scholar in Japan and Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship at Utah State University, recently conducted workshops in Cambodia about developing an entrepreneurial mindset. The workshops started by inviting the participants, which include women, university, and high school students, to engage in a simulated market activity in which teams traded cards in an effort to maximize the value of their holdings.
The activity was followed by a lively discussion about entrepreneurial principles such as networking, creativity, experimentation, and failure. The participants were able to draw on their experience in the activity to connect entrepreneurial concepts.
The workshops were held February 7 – 9 and ranged from 20 to 150 participants. Special thanks to the Cambodian Women’s Entrepreneurs Association, National University of Management, the Young Entrepreneurs Association of Cambodia, Sovannaphum High School, Pannasastra University of Cambodia, the Cambodian Women Business Federation, and Zaman University for hosting the workshops.
