Dewi Naura Vergustina is a teacher and environmental educator in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Universitas Mulawarman in 2010. She worked as a coordinator curriculum in her school and Teacher Associate in Balikpapan, where she designs environmental curriculum and educates several schools in Balikpapan under the guidance of Department of Education in Balikpapan and Ministry of Environment and Forestry Eco regional in Kalimantan.
She pursues a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy at Portland State University. She plans to educate the society about the importance of environmental issues and awareness in their local community. Upon completion of the program, she intends to return to Balikpapan and to continue teaching and to train fellow teachers in the city or other remote areas in Kalimantan on how to disseminate the knowledge of environmental education and how to improve their pedagogy skill.
