Under the Fulbright Visiting Scholar program, Dr Agus Sukito researches chemistry at Oregon State University. His research center on “Biosynthesis of Agarwood Fragrances and their Heterologous Production in Microorganisms.” He hopes to have laboratory skill improvement for compound isolation and structure elucidation, including High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, and Mass Spectroscopy (MS) by researching the United States.
He is a researcher at Balai Penelitian dan Pengembangan Teknologi Hasil Hutan Bukan Kayu (BPPTHHBK), Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan Republik Indonesia in Mataram.
He holds a PhD, and a master’s in plant chemistry and natural product chemistry and biotechnology from Ehime University, Japan. His bachelor’s degree in forest conservation was from Institut Pertanian Bogor.
