Dr Nancy Everhart, Fulbright Lecturer at Beijing Normal University, was an honored guest at Tsurumi University in Yokohoma, Japan from December 10-13 where she provided two guest lectures and participated in cultural events and tours.
Everhart spoke on “Metaethnography for Theory Building in Library and Information Science” and “Applying to US Colleges and Universities” in the Department of Library, Information and Archival Studies. She met with faculty at several hosted meals to discuss research in the field. Faculty provided tours to the Buddisht Monastery on campus as well as the National Diet Library in Tokyo.
“The Fulbright Regional Travel program provided me with a deeply moving experience. I was very impressed with the students, faculty, and facilities at Tsurumi University and really enjoyed experiencing the Japanese culture,” Everhart stated. “I hope to return some time for a longer stay.”
