Dr. Setia Juli Irzal Ismail is a lecturer at Telkom University, Bandung. He earned his bachelor’s degree in telecommunication engineering from Sekolah Tinggi Teknologi Telkom, and master’s and doctoral degrees in electrical engineering and informatics, both from Institut Teknologi Bandung.

As a Fulbright Visiting Scholar, he conducts research in cybersecurity, focusing on the use of artificial intelligence to improve the detection of malware and other cyber threats. The research aims to develop more accurate and transparent cybersecurity tools that can help organizations better protect their digital systems. He intends to apply these advanced methods in Indonesia, strengthen collaboration between academia and industry, and enhance the cybersecurity curriculum at his university.
