Dr. Sudhir Kaul is serving as a Fulbright Specialist at Politeknik Negeri Manado (Manado State Polytechnic) in Indonesia from May 13 to June 5, 2023. The program’s primary goal is to assist with incorporating project-based learning and capstone experiences in Engineering and other disciplines. The activities include presenting workshops to faculty members, general lectures to students and faculty, and participation in a seminar.
Dr. Kaul is a professor in the School of Engineering and Technology at Western Carolina University in North Carolina. Dr. Kaul received a PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2006 and has held academic positions since 2008. Dr. Kaul has taught graduate and undergraduate courses at four universities, supervised graduate theses and undergraduate researchers, and mentored Capstone projects. His industry experience includes the development of vibration isolation systems, the design and development of motorcycle powertrains, and the design of hydraulic systems. His research interests include dynamic modeling for vibration isolation, motorcycle dynamics, and fracture diagnostics. He has published more than seventy articles in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. He is the author of ‘Modeling and Analysis of Passive Vibration Isolation Systems,’ published by Elsevier in 2021. In 2022, Dr. Kaul was awarded the University of North Carolina (UNC) Board of Governors Award for Excellence in Teaching.
