Dr. Yahdi Bin Rus is a researcher at Pusat Riset Elektronika, Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional (Research Center for Electronics, National Research and Innovation Agency – BRIN) in Bandung. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Universitas Negeri Padang and a master’s degree from Institut Teknologi Bandung, both in physics, and a PhD in chemistry from École Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay, France.

As a Fulbright Visiting Scholar, Dr. Yahdi is conducting research in materials science at the University of Connecticut. His project explores the electrochemical functionalization of reduced graphene oxide with 5-Amino-1,10-phenanthroline and gold nanoparticles to develop advanced graphene-based materials. These materials aim to address critical challenges in renewable energy by improving catalytic efficiency and energy storage performance. He intends to apply this knowledge to strengthen Indonesia’s research ecosystem, mentor early-career scientists, and contribute to sustainable energy solutions.
