Dr. Zulfa Sakhiyya is working on a research project in language education at Ohio State University. She seeks to explore formal literacy discourse in understanding literacy practices and women’s empowerment.
Dr. Zulfa is a director of the Literacy Research Centre of Universitas Negeri Semarang, the vice deputy of the Education and Science Working Group of Akademi Ilmuwan Muda Indonesia (ALMI), and a senior research fellow at the Asia Research Centre at Universitas Indonesia.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Universitas Negeri Semarang, a master’s in TESOL from La Trobe University, Melbourne, and a PhD in education from the University of Auckland, New Zealand.
