AMINEF EducationUSA Jakarta Center participated in the Mentoring Seminar for the Selected Candidates of Indonesia Education Scholarship Program of the Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan (Education Funds Management Institute – LPDP) on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the Redtop Hotel in Jakarta. From 84 candidates of this first batch, 20 (23,81%) have been admitted to one of the top 54 schools in the U.S. 14 others are still awaiting decision of the schools they are applying to in the U.S. This is a great development indeed, as last year, the first year of the program, there were only 32 (6.86%) going to the States from a group of 466 grantees who pursued their studies abroad.

EducationUSA adviser Rina Meiyanti’s presentation on “Taking the Right Steps to U.S. Study” was well received generating a number of detailed questions from the audience as many are still in the process of applying to schools all over the world recommended by LPDP. It is expected that some would seriously consider the U.S. as their study destination and indeed some have made appointments to see the advisers at AMINEF in the coming few days.
