On February 10, 2021, The American Indonesian Exchange Foundation (AMINEF) held an orientation event with the Foreign Research Permit (FRP) division staff of the Indonesian Ministry of Research and Technology/National Research and Innovation Agency (RISTEK/BRIN). AMINEF hosted the online event to launch an English Language training program – a program it supports with the US Embassy Jakarta and facilitated by their longtime partner, the International Test Center (ITC).
The online training program will run for three months until May 2021, involving FRP’s eight staff. It aims to enhance FRP staff skills in spoken and written English, which will support their duties managing foreign researchers in Indonesia, including American scholars and researchers.
The participants will undergo two hours per week of training covering four English language skills – writing, speaking, structure, and listening – emphasizing business communication. Successful participants will receive certificates at the end of the training period.
Speaking at the orientation event, AMINEF Executive Director Alan Feinstein said that AMINEF was proud to be working with RISTEK/BRIN to provide English language assistance. He hopes FRP staff will benefit from this training to aid its day-to-day work.
In his remarks, Prof. Dr Heri Hermansyah, RISTEK/BRIN Director of Intellectual Property Management, expressed his thanks for the initiative and support from AMINEF and the US Embassy Jakarta. Prof. Dr Heri was confident that FRP staff would remain committed to participating in the training program.
We hope all participants will enjoy the training program and find it useful for their work.
