Feni Kurniati pursues a doctoral degree in architecture at the University of Oregon. Her main interest is in developing and conserving vernacular architecture, particularly concerning the effects of global tourism in Indonesia.

She received a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Universitas Indonesia and a master’s from Institut Teknologi Bandung, where she is a lecturer.
