The US Fulbright scholars and students participating in the conference “Issues in Southeast Asian Studies: Society, Culture and Environment” have arrived in Jakarta today (03/17).
The US scholars and students flew from various countries in Southeast Asia region such as Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia and Timor Leste where they are conducting their research in various fields of study sponsored by the Fulbright program, the US government’s flagship international educational exchange program.
Several scholars, students, and Indonesian Fulbright alumni are heading to Jakarta from different provinces in Indonesia.
The conference, which will be held at the Fairmont Hotel, Senayan, March 18-19, 2016, will include parallel panels on Education; History, Religion and Rights; Biodiversity; Disaster Risk Management; Cities/Urban Spaces; Art, Music & Film; Public Health; Business & Labor; and Food Security.
Members of the public who have registered to the event through Eventbrite.com are advised to show proof of their registration when they register in person at the conference venue at the Fairmont Hotel on March 18th and 19th. Without showing the notification e-mail, it may not be possible to be admitted to the conference breakout sessions.
