AMINEF and ISI Denpasar invite you to a Fulbright Panel Discussion on Digital Preservation of Cultural Heritage on Friday, November 29, 2019, at 09.00 – 13.00 (local time) at ISI Denpasar.
Dr. Nyoman Dewi Pebryani is a 2015 DIKTI-funded Fulbright Grants for Indonesian Lecturers – PhD at Clemson University who studied Planning, Design and Building Environment. She will present her dissertation on documenting and digitizing double ikat textile patterns called Geringsing, from Tenganan Pegringsingan village in Bali.
Dr. Dewi’s presentation will be followed by 2018 US Fulbrighter Antonius (Oki) Wiriadjaja’s on a broad topic of a new technology called Photogrammetry, for preserving the traditional arts of Central Java.
The third presenter will be Nancy Margried who will talk about cultural preservation through digital transformation by utilizing Artificial Intelligence to generate new weaving textile patterns based on the traditional Indonesian patterns, which aims to empower traditional weavers through the use of technology.
This event will be moderated by Dr. Tjok Istri Ratna Cora Sudharsana, the Head of Fashion Study Program of ISI Denpasar.
Also, Dr. Dewi will share tips and insights into studying in the US reflecting her DIKTI-funded Fulbright Grants for Indonesian Lecturers – PhD program.
