Fulbright Scholar to China Prof. C James Hueng traveled to Taiwan with the support of East Asia Pacific Regional Travel Program (RTP) in late May to talk about banking systems in the United States.

During the trip, he visited National Taiwan University and National Central University. He gave talks on “Central Banking in the United States” and “Central Bank Independence: Trump vs Yellen.”

“The interactions between President Trump and the Fed chairperson Janet Yellen were new to the audience and raised a lot of interests,” said Prof. Hueng.

Besides delivering the talks, Prof. Hueng also managed to build a connection between his home institution, Western Michigan University and National Chengchi University.
