Fulbrighter Justin D’Agostino and UNSYIAH to hold 2018 Southeast Asian Biodiversity, Science Education, and Humanity International Conference

Fulbright Student Research grantee, Justin D’Agostino, will collaborate with his host Universitas Syiah Kuala (UNSYIAH) in Banda Aceh to hold Southeast Asian Biodiversity, Science Education, and Humanity International Conference on April 30 – May 2, 2018.

The theme for this year’s conference is “Towards the Sustainable Use of Biodiversity in a Changing Environment: Science Education and Applications.” Four leading scholars in the fields of primatology and conservation, including Fulbright ASEAN Research Scholar Dr. Dena Clink, will give their keynote speeches. Fulbright Student Researcher Diana Parker will also deliver a paper in one of the panel presentations.

As mentioned in the conference’s official website, “the mission of this conference is to strengthen international collaboration with local Indonesian researchers and students. The goal is to encourage critical and creative thinking through participation in sharing of data, methodology, and ideas.”

This is the first collaboration between AMINEF and UNSYIAH which AMINEF supports and hopes to continue in the future.
