Hannah Standiford, US-based Orkes Keroncong Rumput singer, received a Fulbright US Student Research award for a project called “Keroncong: Keeping Traditions Alive.” Hannah wants to study two Indonesian music styles i.e. keroncong and stambul fajar, respectively at Solo and Belitung. Hannah wants to learn more about the popularity of these traditional music within the youth community in the two towns. She hopes that once learning more about these music, she can help promote them in the Western world. Hannah collaborates with Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI), Solo until she finishes her research in September 2018.
