Job Opening – Travel Booking Assistants

AMINEF, the binational foundation that manages the US government-funded Fulbright program in Indonesia, seeks two (2) Travel Booking Assistants under a one-year, renewable contract agreement.

As a travel booking assistant, he/she will provide administrative support for all AMINEF Programs and Administrative teams by booking travel and accommodation domestically in Indonesia and abroad. This will require maintaining and developing strong, sustainable relationships with key travel agency clients, airlines, and hotel chains. Given that much of the travel for AMINEF grantees is between Indonesia and the United States, the booking assistant must have experience of the travel systems in the US, advisable routes, etc., in addition to similar knowledge of the domestic scene in Indonesia. In the case of organizing meetings, will also be required to deal with hotels and agents for organizing meeting logistics, accessories, etc.

Required qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, travel, and tourism, or a related field
– Five (5) years of proven working experience as a travel assistant or similar role
– Strong knowledge of the travel industry, including airplane reservations and ticketing (domestic and international), hotel booking, and handling groups
– Proficient knowledge of online booking tools and Computer Reservation System (Abacus GDS system, Amadeus, Galileo)
– Good oral and written English skills
– Proficient in computer skills
– Excellent communication and customer service skills
– Excellent organizational and planning skills, detail-oriented, flexible, high level of initiative
– Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and manage time
– Able to work on a team and individually, on weekends when needed
– Available to start work immediately
