Dr. Flynn will collaborate with the English Department of the Gadjah Mada University (UGM) under the Fulbright Specialist grant from February 13 – March 25, 2016. Through this collaboration, Dr. Flynn will give lectures and a workshop on creative writing and academic writing. He will also assist the UGM’s English Department Chair in developing academic workshop program for some students to help them pursue their passion in a poet, fiction and non-fiction writings. This is his second time in Indonesia under the Fulbright award.

Dr. Flynn earned five degrees including a PhD in Creative Writing and has more than 190 publications worldwide and has more than 25 years teaching experience which includes Japan Exchange and Teaching program, 1987-88.

He is a Former president of the Music City Blues Society, and current president of the Marion James Musicians Aid Society. He was the Director of the annual Musicians Reunion, an all-day festival featuring more than 20 acts. He is also the Board of the Hawaii Literary Arts Council.
