Justin D’Agostino will be living deep in Taman Nasional Gunung Leuser for research project “Effects of anthropogenic noise on the natural calling behavior of wild siamang.” until July 2018. The PhD student at Southern Illinois University will be studying the flexibility of primate vocal responses to anthropogenic noise that opens the door for an evolutionary discussion about not only the effect on modern humans but also into the origins of communication and language. His research project is supported by Universitas Syiah Kuala in Banda Aceh.
