Luke, a recent Alma College graduate in Michigan, assists with English teaching at SMAS Nurul Ilmi Padang Sidimpuan, North Sumatra, as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA).

With degrees in philosophy and history, Luke’s Alma College journey was marked by his role as the student congress president. He extended his reach to Sierra Leone, volunteering at a hospital and researching the country’s civil war. His engagement with the Model United Nations team included teaching a high school Model UN class in Faridabad, India. This teaching experience in India ignited his interest in teaching, propelling him to pursue this passion further in Indonesia.

During his time in Indonesia, he’s excited to delve into the language, history, and culture.
