Makna Sinatria is pursuing an MA in women’s, gender, and sexuality studies at State University of New York (SUNY), Albany, New York. She wants to do research on rape culture in literary works or media narratives in both the US and Indonesian perspectives.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in English literature from Sebelas Maret University in Surakarta in 2012. Since then she has worked as a freelance translator and an English language editor.
