Mardhiyyah Adhany Achmad is pursuing public policy at Duke University, focusing on designing and implementing environmental and natural resource policies. She holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations and peace studies from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in Japan.

Mardhiyyah is a human research ethics (IRB) administrator at the Jakarta regional office of the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), a global research center that works to reduce poverty through evidence-based policy.
