Wulan Pusparini, a tiger expert at the Wildlife Conservation Society helps identifying a photograph of a big cat believed to be the extinct Javan tiger. The photo was taken by rangers at Ujung Kulon National Park, West Java, which was used to be Javan tiger habitat before its extinction decades ago. Full article on NY Times here.
Ms. Pusparini was awarded a 2012 Fulbright Master’s Degree scholarship to study Conservation Biodiversity Management at University of Massachusetts, Amherst. The NY Times journalist who interviewed Wulan is Jon Emont, a Fulbright US Student to Indonesia in 2014 – 2015.
