
Netty Herawaty is undertaking a doctorate in political science at Arizona State University. She wants to work on the dynamics of political recruitment and women representatives in Islamic political parties. Her proposed study is related to the comparison of female candidacies between some political parties in Indonesia.
She is a lecturer at Lambung Mangkurat University, Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan.
She studied international relations for her bachelor’s degree from Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta University and she completed her masters in political science from Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta.
She looks forward to eventually helping establish a research center to develop collaborations among political scientists in Indonesia and the US.
