The Dangdut Cowboys to perform with Rhoma Irama on Indonesian tour
American dangdut band The Dangdut Cowboys, will “shake” Surabaya, Medan and Jakarta on March 8 -18. Book raids, Red-baiting and culture wars in the Indonesian presidential election
On 26 December 2018, an Indonesian National Army (TNI) unit raided a book vendor in Kediri, East Java. They seized a handful of titles – all history books – about the nation’s turbulent politics in the 1960s. The army claimed the books were illegal as they promoted Marxism.
