Nia Dufeal, a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA), co-teaches English at SMKN 3 Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan.

She graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in biological sciences and minors in anthropology and pathogenesis. At UF, she served as a teaching assistant, peer coach, and student leader in a leadership development program, deepening her interest in education and mentorship.

Outside the classroom, Nia volunteered with community-based health and rescue organizations, supporting underserved populations.

As a Fulbright ETA in Palangkaraya, Nia hopes to foster cross-cultural exchange, support English education, and learn from the daily rhythms of her host community. She is especially interested in exploring Indonesia’s cultural traditions and sharing her own heritage through food, language, and storytelling.
