Noni Oktiana Setiowati is undertaking a doctorate in industrial and systems engineering at University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, focusing on human factors and ergonomics related to human errors in the process industry.

She is a lecturer at Institut Teknologi Kalimantan in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. She earned her bachelor’s degree from UIN Sunan Kalijaga and her master’s from Universitas Gadjah Mada in industrial engineering.
