Noviyanti is a lecturer in the veterinary technician program at Papua University in Manokwari. With her Fulbright award she is pursuing a master’s in public health at Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas. She is focusing on zoonotic diseases, which spread between animals and humans.
Noviyanti holds a doctor of veterinary medicine degree from Bogor Agricultural Institute, earned in 2010, after which she worked for three years as a government officer in Central Kalimantan in a veterinary public health program that aimed to prevent and control infectious diseases among animals. She hopes to conduct research on risk communication of infectious disease because she wants to know the best strategies to communicate risks of infectious disease to the local community.
