As a Fulbright Doctoral Degree Scholarship recipient, Riana Permatasari is working toward a PhD in teaching and learning at Ohio State University, with a specialization in American children’s literature.

She is a lecturer in English literature at Universitas Islam Sultan Agung in Semarang. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English teaching and a master’s degree in the same field from Universitas Negeri Semarang, as well as a master’s degree in reading and literacy in early and middle childhood from Ohio State University.
