Riri Wiyanti Retnaningtyas is studying cell and molecular biology at the University of Arkansas. Her goal is to construct a genetic database of Indonesian birds which can become the basis for a breeding and release program.

She is a research assistant at Malang State University where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in biology. She is also a member of the Asian Raptor Research and Conservation Network.
