Ruri teaches Indonesian language at the University of Hawaii at Manoa as a Fulbright – Badan Bahasa Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) Fellow.

She is an English lecturer at the Language Center at Universitas Bengkulu. She earned her bachelor’s degree cum laude in English from Universitas Bengkulu.
