
Suratmiari (Ari) is a government officer from Indonesia. She has a master degree in Economic Development. Currently, she is at Massachussetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as a Hubert H. Humphrey fellow. She works in the Financial Department in the Local Government of Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta. Previously she had six years of working experience in the Development Planning Board. Ari has always been interested in the role of citizen participation and government policy planning. At MIT she hopes to further learn about citizen engagement in planning, community development, and urban governance in the developing world.
